This summer, the JJSJ Foundation proudly hosted the Zero Robotics Summer Camp – Middle School 2025 Competition: Galactic Greenhouse, an inspiring national STEM program developed by NASA and MIT. From June 30 to August 8, students spent just 10 hours a week — online or in person — learning to code real satellites aboard the International Space Station.

Participants gained hands-on experience with Java, collaborated with peers across the country, and tackled problem-solving challenges modeled on real-world space missions. While financial constraints meant the finale shifted from a live satellite run to an interactive simulation of student-created code across multiple scenarios, the excitement and learning were just as unforgettable.

The program blended innovation with camaraderie. Students enjoyed our always-popular Field Day, complete with games, networking, and new friendships. Sessions were hosted at Stratton Library, North Cobb Library, SEA/GNSBE JR, and One Source, ensuring accessibility for students across multiple communities.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all parents, partners, students, and supporters who made this possible. Your enthusiasm and commitment powered the success of this year’s camp.

Encouraged by the strong turnout and energy, we’re already planning to bring this incredible experience back in the upcoming calendar year. The future of STEM education in our community is bright — and together, we can help it shine even brighter.
