Building on a Year of Impact, Looking Ahead Together | 2025 – 2026

Every year brings new opportunities for our members to grow, lead, and connect — and the past year was no exception. Our students and families took part in unforgettable experiences that blended learning with real-world exposure. From the Six Flags Tour with Georgia Tech and First LEGO Robotics Training to meaningful outreach like the MLK Community Event and the Juneteenth APEX Celebration, members were actively building skills while making a difference.

We also deepened partnerships, engaging with the Johnson STEM Center, sponsoring SheThrive, and attending national convenings such as the NSBE Conference in Chicago. Special workshops — including Microsoft Training, Sunday Secrets to Success for High School Families, and leadership development programs like Activate Your Voice — gave families tools to prepare for the future.

What’s Ahead for 2025–26

As we move forward, our calendar is already shaping up to be full of experiences that keep members engaged and inspired. Here are some highlights you can expect this year:

  • August – Celebrate POSSE Nominees, Kickoff & Leadership Foundations, including an officer welcome training.
  • September – Team Building & Project Planning, with a Family Meet & Greet.
  • October – Community Engagement Month, featuring student-led service projects and STEM competitions.
  • November – Career & College Readiness workshops, with resume building and health sciences labs.
  • December – Winter Innovation Challenge, focused on creativity and engineering.
  • January – Mentor & Servant-Leader Month, including mid-year reflections and outreach events.
  • February – Black History & STEM Celebration, spotlighting representation in STEM careers.
  • March – National Convention Prep, preparing our teams and families for the national stage.
  • April – Community Impact Month, centered on Earth Day and environmental science projects.
  • May – Year-End Celebration & Reflection, with awards, showcases, and a closing ceremony.
  • June–July – Optional summer engagement, including STEM camps, leadership summits, and cultural events.

 

Beyond the Calendar

While our calendar of events gives members plenty to look forward to, the value of membership doesn’t stop there. Families also gain access to college prep programs, special opportunities through partner events, and a network committed to growth and mentorship.
